Artifact
I am going to choose ESPN as my artifact. Our television is tuned to ESPN 23 hours of the day, because My husband and I love to watch sports. I feel as if ESPN has set the bar for sports shows/channels, NBC is introducing a new sports channel in 2012 trying to compete. Lots of money and time are spent on sports, events and merchandise. American's have a favorite team to cheer for, from a hometown team, college or professional, there is always something to get excited about and have a good time with a fan of sports.

I agree who doesn't know what ESPN is :) When you think of a sports channel you think ESPN. It would be interesting to see how NBC does with a sports channel since ESPN has been around so long and does such a good job giving us the sports and news we need. I also love sports and was so glad to have today off to watch some bowl games!
ReplyDeleteThis is an important artifact in our home also. We spend a lot of time watching the channel. It's interesting to think of how items become part of popular culture. When people think of sports they have often think of ESPN but we are big football fans and ESPN only has one football game each week.
